Terms of Use

Effective May 22, 2026

Welcome to Stowe. We’re glad you’re here! Please read these terms to learn how they govern your use of our websites, applications, and services. If you have any questions or comments, you can contact us at: support@joinstowe.com.

1. Agreement to these Terms

These Terms of Use (the “Terms”) are a legal agreement between you and Stowe Financial Corp. (“Stowe,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). These Terms govern your access to and use of Stowe, including our iOS mobile application, website at joinstowe.com, account features, AI-powered tools, financial insights, support services, and related services (collectively, the “Service”).

By creating an account, downloading or using the Service, starting a free trial, purchasing a subscription, or otherwise accessing the Service, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, you must not use the Service.

2. Eligibility

You may use the Service only if you are at least 18 years old, are located in Canada or the United States, and can form a binding contract with Stowe. The Service is not intended for minors, and minors are not permitted to create accounts or use the Service.

You may not use the Service if you are prohibited from doing so under applicable law or if we have previously suspended or terminated your account.

3. The Stowe Service

Stowe helps users track money, understand spending, identify bills and subscriptions, compare spending patterns, receive AI-powered guidance, and find practical ways to save. The Service may include features that help you:

  • connect financial accounts through supported third-party data providers;

  • categorize and review transactions, bills, income, transfers, subscriptions, and recurring payments;

  • identify unusual spending, changes in spending, potential overpayments, forgotten subscriptions, and savings opportunities;

  • ask questions about your spending and financial activity;

  • compare your spending to similar households or relevant benchmarks where available;

  • receive guidance about steps you may take outside the Service, such as reviewing a bill, cancelling a subscription, comparing providers, or considering a different product.

The Service is intended for personal, household, and consumer use only. It is not intended for business, commercial, institutional, or professional advisory use.

4. Important financial disclaimer

Stowe provides educational information, spending insights, reminders, comparisons, estimates, and general guidance. Stowe does not provide financial, investment, tax, legal, accounting, credit, insurance, mortgage, or other professional advice. Stowe is not a bank, credit union, lender, broker, investment adviser, insurance broker, portfolio manager, tax preparer, law firm, accounting firm, or financial planning firm.

Any information, recommendation, projection, comparison, category, benchmark, estimate, or AI-generated response provided through the Service is for informational and educational purposes only. You are responsible for evaluating any information provided by the Service and for deciding whether to act on it. You should consult qualified professionals before making decisions that may have legal, tax, financial, insurance, credit, investment, or other significant consequences.

Stowe does not guarantee that any guidance will save you money, improve your financial position, identify every relevant opportunity, or be appropriate for your personal circumstances.

5. No cancellations, switching, negotiations, or transactions by Stowe

Stowe may identify potential actions you could consider, including cancelling an unused subscription, reviewing a bill, negotiating with a provider, switching service providers, changing a plan, or comparing financial products. Stowe does not initiate, complete, or execute those actions on your behalf unless we expressly introduce a specific feature in the future and obtain any required authorization from you.

You remain solely responsible for contacting providers, reviewing terms, cancelling services, switching plans, negotiating bills, accepting offers, applying for products, or taking any other action outside the Service. We are not responsible for provider decisions, eligibility requirements, fees, cancellation rules, service interruptions, product terms, credit impacts, or other consequences of actions you choose to take.

6. Accounts and security

You need to create an account to use the Service. You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information and to keep it updated. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activity under your account.

You must notify us promptly at support@joinstowe.com if you believe your account has been compromised or used without authorization. We may require additional verification before providing support or restoring access.

You may not share your credentials with anyone other than through household or sharing features that we make available within the Service. You are responsible for ensuring that any person you invite to share a household or account feature is someone you trust.

7. Household and shared features

Stowe allows you to create or join a household, invite another household member, share certain financial information, or collaborate around shared bills, goals, budgets, spending, and subscriptions. By inviting another person, you authorize us to make the relevant shared information available to that person as part of the Service.

You should share access only with people you trust. Depending on the feature, invited household members may be able to view sensitive information, including transaction details, categories, account names, bill amounts, subscriptions, budgets, goals, and AI-generated insights. You are responsible for managing invitations and access settings.

If you accept an invitation to a household, you agree that information you contribute to that household may be visible to the inviting user or other household members according to the applicable sharing settings. We are not responsible for disputes between household members or for the actions of people you invite or join.

You may remove a household member or leave a household using the controls we make available. Removing a person from a household will stop future sharing with that person, but it may not remove information already viewed, exported, copied, or retained in historical records, logs, backups, or legally required records. You are responsible for reviewing sharing settings before inviting or joining a household.

8. Connecting financial accounts and third-party services

The Service may allow you to connect bank accounts, credit cards, loans, investment accounts, or other financial accounts through third-party data providers such as Plaid. By connecting an account, you authorize Stowe and our service providers to access, process, retrieve, and use account information as needed to provide the Service, subject to our Privacy Policy and the applicable third-party terms and privacy policies.

You represent that you have the right to connect each account and to provide any information required to access it. You acknowledge that connected account information may be delayed, inaccurate, unavailable, incomplete, or out of date.

Third-party services are not controlled by Stowe. We are not responsible for the availability, accuracy, performance, security, terms, policies, or practices of any bank, financial institution, data provider, payment processor, AI provider, app store, or other third party.

Disconnecting a financial account will stop future retrieval of information from that account, but it may not delete information that was previously retrieved and stored by Stowe. You may request deletion of your account or personal information as described in the Privacy Policy, subject to legal, security, fraud prevention, backup, and other permitted retention requirements.

9. AI-powered features

The Service uses artificial intelligence and machine learning tools, including tools provided by third-party AI providers such as OpenAI and Google Gemini, to categorize transactions, identify patterns, generate summaries, answer questions, suggest next steps, and provide other features.

AI-generated outputs may be incomplete, inaccurate, outdated, or not suitable for your circumstances. You should not rely on AI-generated outputs as the sole basis for financial, legal, tax, insurance, credit, investment, or other important decisions. You are responsible for reviewing outputs and deciding whether to act on them.

You agree not to use the Service to submit unlawful, harmful, abusive, infringing, deceptive, or sensitive information that you do not have the right to provide. You also agree not to use the Service to generate or facilitate unlawful, harmful, or deceptive activity.

Refer to our Privacy Policy to understand the information we share with these providers.

10. Subscriptions, free trials, billing, and cancellation

Stowe is available through the Apple App Store. We offer a 7-day free trial, followed by a paid subscription unless you cancel before the trial ends.

Purchases, renewals, free trials, cancellations, refunds, and billing are handled through Apple and are subject to Apple’s terms, policies, and account settings. Your subscription automatically renews unless cancelled in accordance with Apple’s rules before the renewal date. You can manage or cancel your subscription through your Apple ID subscription settings or directly within the Stowe app.

We do not receive or store your full payment card number for App Store purchases. We may receive subscription status and related transaction information from Apple or our service providers to operate your account.

Except where required by applicable law or Apple’s policies, fees are non-refundable and we do not provide credits or refunds for partially used subscription periods.

11. Promotions, referrals, and offers

We may offer free trials, discounts, referral programs, promotional pricing, or other offers. Promotional terms may vary and may be subject to additional conditions. We may modify, suspend, or end promotions at any time, subject to applicable law and any terms presented with the offer.

Unless we state otherwise, promotional offers cannot be combined, transferred, exchanged for cash, or applied retroactively.

12. Partner and affiliate relationships

Stowe may display or link to third-party products or services, including financial products, service providers, subscriptions, credit cards, banking products, insurance products, telecommunications providers, or other offers. We may receive compensation, referral fees, affiliate commissions, or other benefits if you click a link, apply for, purchase, or use certain third-party products or services.

We design Stowe to provide useful guidance, but compensation may affect which offers are available to us or displayed in certain parts of the Service. Receiving compensation does not factor into the recommendations or insights we provide, however, third-party offers may not include all products or providers available in the market, and information may change. You are responsible for reviewing the terms, eligibility criteria, rates, fees, benefits, risks, and suitability of any third-party product or service before acting.

13. Acceptable use

You agree not to misuse the Service. You must not:

  • use the Service for unlawful, fraudulent, harmful, abusive, or deceptive purposes;

  • access or use the Service in a way that violates applicable law or third-party rights;

  • impersonate another person or misrepresent your identity or authority;

  • connect accounts you do not own or are not authorized to access;

  • interfere with, disrupt, damage, or overload the Service or related systems;

  • reverse engineer, decompile, copy, scrape, crawl, index, or extract data from the Service except as permitted by law;

  • use the Service to build or train a competing product or service;

  • upload or transmit malware, harmful code, or unauthorized tracking tools;

  • attempt to bypass security, rate limits, account restrictions, or access controls;

  • use the Service for business, commercial, resale, or professional advisory purposes without our written permission.

14. User content and feedback

You may provide information, documents, questions, messages, prompts, feedback, or other content to the Service (“User Content”). You retain any rights you have in your User Content. You grant Stowe a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, process, display, transmit, analyze, and use User Content as needed to provide, maintain, protect, improve, and develop the Service, subject to our Privacy Policy.

If you provide suggestions, ideas, or feedback, you grant us the right to use them without restriction or compensation to you.

15. Ownership and license

The Service, including software, designs, text, graphics, interfaces, trademarks, logos, models, workflows, databases, and other content, is owned by Stowe or our licensors and is protected by intellectual property and other laws. Subject to your compliance with these Terms, we grant you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the Service for your personal, non-commercial use.

We reserve all rights not expressly granted to you. You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, lease, sublicense, publicly display, publicly perform, or create derivative works based on the Service except as expressly permitted by these Terms or by applicable law.

16. App Store terms

Because Stowe is distributed through the Apple App Store, you must also comply with Apple’s applicable terms and usage rules. Apple is not responsible for providing maintenance or support for the Service. To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Apple has no warranty obligation with respect to the Service. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of this section and may enforce this section against you.

17. Updates and availability

We may modify, suspend, discontinue, or restrict access to the Service or any feature at any time, subject to applicable law. We may release updates, bug fixes, or changes that you may need to install to continue using the Service.

We do not guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted, secure, error-free, accurate, available at any particular time, or compatible with every device, operating system, account, bank, provider, or financial institution.

18. Privacy

We take the privacy of our users and the information we collect very seriously. Our Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect personal information. By using the Service, you acknowledge that we will process personal information as described in the Privacy Policy.

19. Suspension and termination

You may stop using the Service at any time. You may request account deletion through the Service or by contacting support@joinstowe.com. Cancelling your subscription through Apple does not necessarily delete your Stowe account or all associated data.

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service if we believe you have violated these Terms, created risk or possible legal exposure for us or others, engaged in misuse, or if required by law. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ends immediately.

20. Disclaimers

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the Service is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, statutory, or otherwise. Stowe disclaims all warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, non-infringement, accuracy, availability, reliability, security, and uninterrupted operation.

We do not warrant that the Service will identify every bill, subscription, opportunity, anomaly, refund, transfer, category, or error, or that any categorization, insight, forecast, benchmark, comparison, recommendation, or AI output will be accurate, complete, current, or suitable for you.

21. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Stowe and its directors, officers, employees, contractors, agents, affiliates, service providers, and licensors will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, punitive, or enhanced damages, or for lost profits, lost savings, lost opportunities, lost data, loss of goodwill, service interruption, or financial losses arising from or related to the Service or these Terms, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, our total liability for all claims arising from or related to the Service or these Terms will not exceed the greater of: (a) the amount you paid to Stowe for the Service in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim; or (b) $100.

Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations of liability, so some of the above limitations may not apply to you.

22. Indemnity

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, you agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Stowe and its directors, officers, employees, contractors, agents, affiliates, service providers, and licensors from and against any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, costs, and expenses, including reasonable legal fees, arising from or related to your use of the Service, your User Content, your violation of these Terms, your violation of applicable law, your violation of third-party rights, or your actions taken based on information from the Service.

23. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will take reasonable steps to notify you, such as by updating the “Effective” date, providing in-app notice, sending an email, or using another reasonable method. Your continued use of the Service after the effective date of updated Terms means you accept the updated Terms.

24. Governing law and disputes

Before initiating any formal proceeding arising from or related to these Terms or the Service, you agree to first contact us at support@joinstowe.com with a written description of the dispute, including your name, the email address associated with your account, a description of the dispute, and the relief you are seeking. We will attempt to resolve the dispute informally within 30 days after receiving your notice.

If the dispute is not resolved within that 30-day period, either party may proceed as otherwise permitted by this section and applicable law. Neither party may initiate a formal court proceeding during the 30-day informal resolution period unless injunctive or other equitable relief is necessary to prevent irreparable harm. Nothing in this section prevents either party from bringing an eligible claim in small claims court, contacting a regulator, submitting a privacy complaint, or exercising rights that cannot be waived under applicable law.

These Terms and any dispute arising from or related to the Service are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable in Ontario, without regard to conflict of laws principles.

Subject to any rights you may have under applicable consumer protection, privacy, or other laws, and except where applicable law gives you the right to bring a claim in another forum, you agree that the courts located in Ontario, Canada will have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising from or related to these Terms or the Service. Nothing in these Terms limits any non-waivable rights you may have under the laws of your province, state, territory, or country of residence.

25. General terms

These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy and any additional terms presented with a feature or promotion, form the entire agreement between you and Stowe regarding the Service. If any provision is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in effect. We may assign these Terms in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, corporate reorganization, sale of assets, or by operation of law. You may not assign these Terms without our prior written consent.

Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. Section headings are for convenience only.
